The Minis: Jaimie Fitzgerald - Boston
Hi Jaimie! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A New York native living in Boston. Dreams of combining love of art and styling. Somewhere between city and country life.
How did your interest in art begin? What are some of your favorite artists?
I can't think of one specific moment when my interest in art began. I think it came naturally to me. Some of my favorite artists right now are Agnes Martin, Matisse, Richard Serra, Hella Jongerius, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Noguchi.
Your style is pretty incredible! What are some brands that you are excited about that we should know of?
I'd say my style is easy and feminine with the tendency to lean towards oversized pieces and lots of neutrals. My favorites are always Black Crane and Maryam Nassir Zadeh for shoes. I currently have a style crush on Ilana Kohn and Town Clothes. Comfort Objects is another favorite- she repurposes luxury vintage textiles into the most beautiful limited edition accessories made by hand. By-Sp and J.Hannah are my jewelry crushes.
Do you have any self care rituals?
Skincare is my most important self care ritual. I try to use only all natural products in my routine because I've seen the most results that way. Natural products are the way to go. The one product I need every day is rosehip oil. I like the one from Pai especially.
Are there any unassuming places that you draw inspiration from?
This is a difficult question for me just because I feel that I can draw inspiration from a lot of places! Weekend trips back home to New York, small towns, a new cafe/restaurant, a nicely curated shop, a museum, especially a place like Dia: Beacon. Or even a walk around my neighborhood.
What are a few of your favorite places in and around Boston?
My favorite Boston shops are Follain and Pod. Follain changed my entire beauty and skincare routine and Pod is always a dream to visit. Other favorite spots are Tres Gatos for dinner and Clear Flour Bread for almond croissants. 7 Pond Coffee Bar and Gracenote for coffee! Gracenote does the best cashew milk cappuccinos. Outside of Boston I love Folk and Judith, both in Maine. Also, Bolt Coffee Co. and the RISD museum make for a pretty great afternoon in Providence. The North End in Boston has also always been really charming to me. I think it's the narrow cobblestone streets.
