Gathering #1 March 3rd Chicago, il
Our first meal took place at The Mitz in Chicago for a group of 10 women. From the florals to textiles to ceramics, we spent the start of the event styling and building the table together. Once our table was prepared, we were led through a meditation about the food and flavors we were about to eat. Taking a few moments to become fully present was such a beautiful way to indulge in the extraordinary meal of Elderflower Lemonade, Moroccan Scramble, and Blood Orange Upside Down Cake.
When planning for the launch of Twice Nourished, we really wanted to create an event in which everyone could showcase their talents and passions. As this is a collaborative event, each woman in attendance provided a different aspect of the meal. It was amazing to see how wonderfully cohesive all of the elements were since most of the women had never met each other.
Meet the women of Gathering #1
Eva prepared our beautiful meal. She’s working on opening a West Coast inspired all day cafe in Chicago. With a focus on healthy-ish food, Eva uses fresh ingredients to bring people together around a table.
Danielle owns Monsoon Pottery, an Asian farmhouse inspired ceramics business. Her stunning use of shape and color created the most amazing palette to eat brunch on.
Bianca is a designer and 3D artist working in architecture. She’s the life of the party and created a beautiful illustration that each woman got to bring home with them.
Kata lives in New York, but flew out for the weekend to help her twin sister Eva cook the beautiful meal. The Knezović sisters created such an inviting warmth around their delicious food.
Liz is the owner of LAILA Textiles, a line of natural, plant-dyed textiles. Hand dying each of her textiles, Liz creates both textiles for the table and for wear.
Geneva captured this event so magically, taking photos of each separate element and head shots of each woman. Geneva is a lifestyle and wedding photographer.
Alma is the founder of Tiny Space to Breathe, a meditation & ritual space. She led us through meditation around the ingredients making up our meal to bring us further into the present moment.
Helen created our beautiful floral centerpiece. She’s a floral designer at Flora Chicago, as well as an artist creating hand-drawn prints and cards.
Chelsea Chandler + Mandy Lancia
Chelsea runs Lady January and designed the menus for the meal. Mandy runs The Glossary and captured the event for social and video.
